The Crocodile Nest Novel Study
The Crocodile Nest is a novel written by New Zealand author Des Hunt. Like of all of Des' novels the reader is taken on an adventure where there is a mystery to be solved but things are never as straight forward as they seem.
This novel starts off on the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand and ends up in Cairns, Australia where the wildlife could be far more dangerous than Luke realises. Luke travels to Cairns to see if the man he thought was his dead could be his father. While Luke didn't expected the visit to be a relaxing holiday, when he finds out about an online scam that is happening in the luxurious resorts his holiday becomes far more dangerous than the Australian wildlife.
The novel study includes a range of reading comprehension skills, tier 2 and 3 vocabulary and meaningful follow-up activities that encourage the reader to do more than just read the novel. It is aimed at students in years 7-9 and will take 3-5 weeks to complete.
