The Peco Incident Novel Study

The Peco Incident is a novel written by New Zealand author Des Hunt. Like of all of Des' novels the reader is taken on an adventure where there is a mystery to be solved but things are never as straight forward as they seem.
 
When sparrows start dying on the Otago Peninsula it easy to assume that a virus, maybe the deadly Bird Flu, started at the Peninsula Egg Farm with imported eggs. Danny and Nick begin to suspect a more sinister cause. Whatever the cause something needs to be done before the local albatross colony and penguin populations are put at risk. So begins a race against time.
 
The novel study includes a range of reading comprehension skills, tier 2 and 3 vocabulary and meaningful follow-up activities that encourage the reader to do more than just read the novel. It is aimed at students in years 7-9 and will take 3-5 weeks to complete.
